JourneyDance Guide

I grew up in Santa Fe, NM studying classical ballet and modern dance and enjoying the creative culture this town has to offer. Dance has always felt like my first language as well as a vehicle of inner exploration and healing. After years of severe ankle pain, I threw away my pointe shoes and moved to Seattle, WA where I received a BFA in dance and choreography from Cornish College of the Arts. I have had the honor of performing works by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, Donald Mckayle, Bebe Miller and I danced professionally with Robert Wood Dance New York/Santa Fe. I love teaching and choreographing and recently co-directed a small dance group called SPARROWDANCE with the intention of guiding and empowering young women through their own dance journeys. I am also a certified yoga instructor with a focus on Prana Vinyasa, a holistic and transformative journey into deeper embodiment created by global teacher and activist Shiva Rea.

I was introduced to Toni Bergins, the creator of JourneyDance™ in 2015. While participating in her class I remember feeling a sense of homecoming; a spark of a deep remembering. I trained to become a JourneyDance™ guide in Chacala, Mexico in hopes of sharing this beautiful practice with others. I danced for days on end by the beach enjoying the company of new friends from all over the world and eating delicious and healthy food. Just a few of my very favorite things!
