Kara Duval

Body Worker

I was introduced to massage in my early twenties to heal from a decade of physical trauma and autoimmune related illnesses. My first bodywork session planted a seed that would several years later bloom into a deep love affair with the Body and its vast wisdom. In 2009, I completed a 1000 hr training at The New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts and in 2013 completed 200 hrs of Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Body of Santa Fe. I continue to be inspired by the vast inner terrain of the body and mind.

Primal can be defined as “to come first, or fundamental/essential”. Through bodywork, conscious movement practice, and exploring in nature, I come back to the primal reality that divine alchemy happens through the elemental play of the body. Transformation takes place through breath, sweat, tears, and laughter.

My offerings combine deep listening and honoring the poetic stories that animate psyche and flesh. Sessions may weave together several modalities including Swedish, hot stones, polarity, breath work, and with sound.  My practice is dedicated in honoring the sacredness and creativity of life. Along with bodywork and yoga, I am a performance and visual artist, a schemer/dreamer, and a mother of two furry felines.
